Hello SDLP Youth… How are you?

It was nice to get a link from the SDLP Youth web site.

I only got it because I linked to a video on YouTube where two Canadian radio comedians prank Sarah Palin – and the youngsters in the SDLP saw it (-and apparrently, that’s the kind of thing the SDLP Youth enjoy!).

My blog has been intermittently offline for the past couple of days due to a combination of a> me trying to upgrade to WordPress 2.7 and b> my web host’s abject inability to understand what’s going on. To all the 10 or 12 of you who actually read this shit… sorry about that.

Rest assured that a> the blog is now back online (and I won’t try “upgrading” again without having a nice fast “downgrade” plan in place should things go wrong)… and b> I’m looking into changing hosts.

In other news, as you’ll have noticed if you follow my twitter, I’ve decided to start being more … eh … cool (by – among other things – going to cool events like this one where I get to meet cool people),- oh and yeah – to grow a beard… just to, as I said to a friend, “try it on”… as I told her, “it’s like going into the changing room in a clothes shop, seeing if something suits me… except I’m in there for two weeks”. Yes.

A few girls in my past told me that they’d find a beard a total turn off. For some reason, in my “happy being a singleton” state, that spurs me on all the more.

Incidentally, I’m totally impresed with my one day’s growth,… it says a lot for my face that it can shove out THAT much hair in 24 little hours since the last “razing”…

Yeah, my face rocks!

I’ve given the blog a slight make-over, with a new theme (based on the “Bella” theme from the WPGlamour site. I think it looks nice, clean and sharp so I’m happy with it… Also added the “related posts” feature and will add new plugins and features soon.

What bare faced cheek! “We know this is junk/spam, but just email us with your domain name and we’ll remove you… (*wink!*)” … just how many domain names or email addresses have these assholes harvested?

A quick Whois on the IP address of the commenter points me to the “Asia Pacific Network Information Centre”… guess that doesn’t really help much…

I 100% believe that email is fake or that would be additional bonus to the spammer if I was stupid enough to send a mail. Why the email address not in clear text? Spammer is afraid of spammers, too?

I’m sure I’m not the only one getting these spam comments on my blog (ShiteDrivers.com gets almost 100 of them per week at the moment, and others have gotten them too).

My query is… how can they be stopped? I don’t want them appearing in my Akismet at all – I just want them deleted. Perhaps I should have Spam Karma, but I found the last time I had that installed that it was deleting valid comments far too often…
