According to this video (and, of course, LEGEND), 26 years ago, Fianna Fáil set up an illegal radio station (Election Radio ‘82) in order to promote themselves in that years February Election. On the station they promised to legislate for legal community radio licensing should they win the election – a promise they subsequently broke once elected.
