How do you know when the end is coming?
Well, when you’re talking about work, there’s some clear signs – particularly those mentioned on wisebread.com’s 20 signs that a pink-slip is coming – a guide to how to know you’re about to be fired. If you see the end coming and have decided to quit, you still have to be careful about how you go about doing that so Emurse.com has some sample resignation letters and pointers to help you do it properly and leave on a good note.
You know it’s the end for movie piracy (or one form of it at least) when cinemas start employing night goggles to nab the perpetrators. Smart… but then again, it’s usually the pirates who are one step ahead, and next we’ll surely just see them using more easily concealed recording equipment. Something like this perhaps?
You know it’s the end with your computer when you get a "Blue Screen of Death" (so well known, there’s even an official screen-saver of it!) – even if your computer is an information kiosk, train station information display, airport departures/arrivals information system, an ATM, or even – yes! – a Playstation Portable (PSP)! Just stick Linux on your machine – sure, it never crashes (honest)… especially on a plane! … Watch out for the bees, though…
If you really know it’s "the end" and this planet is on it’s last legs… not to worry. Just make a short (well, a hundred and twenty thousand billion mile) trip to the NEW Earth! Xavier Delfosse, one of the scientists who discovered the planet, says “On the treasure map of the Universe, one would be tempted to mark this planet with an X… Because of its temperature and relative proximity, this planet will most probably be a very important target of the future space missions dedicated to the search for extraterrestrial life.” … *cough*… Neat!
Finally, you know it’s The End, when Jim Morrisson says so. Enjoy!
